Coconut Cocktails...

A white sandy beach.... a hot breeze... palm trees everywhere.... glorious glaring sun....  the most gorgeous aqua marine water... tropical drinks...

I am one of those people who is heavily nostalgic.  Tropical drinks?

It reminds me of when I lived four blocks from the water in Miami Beach....

And when I used to head to the carefree Keys on the weekends....

Do I miss it?  Sometimes.  That is what nostalgia does.

Let me make this full disclosure now.  I was contacted by a representative of UV Vodka, they asked me if I would like to try a sample of their new coconut vodka.  OBVIOUSLY I said yes and they sent me a bottle.  They were proud to announce the addition of a brand new flavor to their wildly popular UV line of vodkas - UV Coconut. It is an all natural flavored coconut vodka, with real coconut milk.  It is white, like milk, in the bottle. UV Coconut is the only white colored coconut vodka on the market.  This vodka is unique.  It is very sweet. I am not normally a fan of sweet cocktails, but this may be an exception.

I started with a twist on the classic Pina Colada. I mixed the coconut vodka with pineapple juice.  PERFECT.  Seriously, they are not paying me, it is my own opinion.  Instantly I wished I was at or near the equator, in my bikini, with an umbrella in my drink.  It was delish and reminded me of my life in South Florida (when I was "in Miami Bitch"), when I took a cruise to Cozumel and Belize, or the weekend trip to Puerto Rico... Those were the days.  There is nothing like a trip through the laid back Caribbean.  *Sigh*

Next I tried the traditional Pina Coloda with the addition of just a splash of Bom Dia.  That was delish too.  I also tried just the UV Coconut vodka with just Bom Dia. Don't do it.  That wasn't the greatest.  I then tried it straight up over ice. That was a little too sweet (and strong for me), yet it was very genuine and authentic coconut flavor.  Yum.....

Ultimately I decided that this is a must-have for your tropical drink spread (although I am having a hard time locating a liquor store that sells it in this town).  It is literally delicious.

I tried to take pictures of my coconut cocktail concoctions with my broken camera, needless to say they did not turn out.    You will just have to take my word for it.

Get ready, stir it up, and drop an umbrella in it!!  Bottoms Up!
